The federal court system in the United States of America is divided up into 94 federal judicial districts. For example, a U.S. Attorney with a background as a securities lawyer may be more predisposed to pursuing investor fraud cases. Or a U.S. Attorney who worked on large drug and gun task forces may not prioritize going after doctors for medicare fraud as much as large drug busts that can make the news.
