David Boyer, Esq.

David Boyer is a federal criminal defense attorney whose practice focuses on appeals, post-conviction litigation, federal sentencing, and compassionate release. He represents clients nationwide, helping individuals challenge convictions, reduce sentences, and navigate some of the most complex stages of the federal criminal justice system.

Before becoming an attorney, David spent more than a decade working exclusively in federal criminal defense. That experience gave him a practical understanding of every stage of a federal case–from investigation and pretrial litigation through appeal and post-conviction proceedings–and continues to shape his strategic, detail-oriented approach to advocacy.

David has represented clients in federal courts across the country and has contributed to significant appellate litigation, including matters before the United States Supreme Court. He has co-authored amicus briefs on behalf of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers addressing important issues of federal criminal law.

In addition to appellate work, David has secured meaningful results for clients through compassionate release, sentencing advocacy, and supervised release proceedings. Whether challenging a conviction or advocating for a second chance, he is committed to finding every available avenue to improve his clients’ outcomes.

David earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, summa cum laude, from the University of Texas at Arlington, and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of North Texas Dallas College of Law.

Based in Texas, David represents clients in federal courts throughout the United States. He believes every client deserves careful preparation, honest advice, and relentless advocacy, regardless of the complexity of the case.

Client was sentenced to 180 months imprisonment. The Court granted our motion for compassionate release and found extraordinary and compelling circumstances warranted a reduction to time served.

Client was facing up to five years imprisonment in federal district court. The court granted our motion for a downward variance and the client received 3 years probation.
